Raising funds to support food education nationwide.
Event Co-Chairs: Ann Beteta and Leah Gordon
Since 2010, Pilot Light has been engaging students through innovative food education programs by using food to teach academic lessons, like reading, math and science. Teachers find that Pilot Light’s approach deepens interest in academic content while building skills to make informed food choices. Moreover, food provides a common language for all and is a highly effective way to foster interpersonal connections among students, teachers, families and communities. The impact can last a lifetime.

Since 2010, Pilot Light has enjoyed tremendous support from Chicago’s food and wine community, including substantial in-kind donations to our annual gala. Recognizing the impact that the pandemic has placed on the Chef community, Pilot Light will be compensating those chefs participating both in-person and virtually for this year’s gala.
