Kathy Argentar is Pilot Light’s Senior Development & Strategy Consultant. With over 15 years of experience raising money and garnering resources for non-profit organizations, Kathy Argentar (kathy@pilotlightchefs.org) manages a broad range of Pilot Light’s fundraising efforts. She joined Pilot Light in 2015 as a grant writer and then assumed responsibility for Pilot Light’s fundraising events and appeals until 2020. In her current role, Kathy manages Pilot Light’s relationships with corporations, foundations, and government agencies. She supports Pilot Light’s growth through writing and managing grants, envisioning/promoting percent of sales campaigns, securing sponsorships, partnering on employee giving initiatives, and actively seeking other support from organizations aligned with Pilot Light’s mission.
Kathy earned a B.S. in Management from Purdue University and also attended Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She has experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public speaking, grant writing, and maintaining client relationships. Prior to coming to Pilot Light, she was the co-founder and president of Friends of Audubon and the Development Manager for Namaste Charter School. Kathy is the founder of her own company, WriteField, LLC, which has secured over $6,000,000 for clients in the field of education and health & human services. She is a long-time and active resident of Chicago’s Roscoe Village neighborhood, where she lives with her husband and 15-year-old Westie, Juneau.
