Laura Alminde – Kindergarten at Stuart Hill Academic Academy – Baltimore, MD
Laura is a Kindergarten teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools. This will be her seventh year at Steuart Hill Academic Academy which is located on the southwest side of the city. Laura earned her early learning teaching certification through Baltimore City Teaching Residency and is currently working on her Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Originally from Philadelphia and a graduate of Temple University, Laura worked for the non-profit, The Food Trust, for over 5 years. There, she provided nutrition education to students in the School District of Philadelphia in grades K through 12.
Since becoming a kindergarten teacher, Laura has been missing her nutrition days and could not pass up the opportunity to work with the Pilot Light team. She looks forward to bringing this valuable knowledge to her classroom and seeing her students make healthy relationships with food. She also looks forward to building her own knowledge and growing as an educator in a new and fun medium.
