Marria Rahim – 10th Grade Geometry and Algebra at Butler College Prep

Marria Rahim is a tenth-grade math teacher at Butler College Prep. She is from North Carolina and studied Media Production and South Asian Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. Marria moved to Chicago in 2013 as a Teach for America Corps Member. She started as an elementary school teacher and media arts teacher for five years and then moved up to high school. Marria is very passionate about education, media, nutrition, culture, and travel. She has served for a variety of programs including Pilot Light, Wellness 4 Everyone, Creative Schools, Future City the Instructional Leadership Team, Drama Club, and National Honor Society. Marria loves to explore and encourages her students to do the same and strive for their passions and dreams. Her long term goal is to become a filmmaker. She briefly worked for HUM TV in Pakistan and hopes to build a career in education connected with media one day.
