Free Food Education Demo at Salt City Market in Syracuse, NY

Join SOFSA, Pilot Light, and three guest chefs (Manila Southammavong of Fat Brother, Joey Chisari of Mojo’s Miscellaneous, and Brody Mapes) at Salt City Market for a free Food Education Demo on 3/12/24! This interactive food tasting event will demonstrate how chefs and teachers use food as a vehicle for learning about health, culture, identity, and our food systems.

Residents of Syracuse, NY interested in learning more about Food Education are invited to join us for a FREE Food Ed. Demo and info session at Salt City Market! This event is free and open to the public, and PreK-12 teachers who are curious about Food Education are strongly encouraged to attend. 

Syracuse City School District teacher Magdalyn Donnelly will guide audience participants to think about their own food stories as chefs prepare and share their dishes in a “Chopped”-style competition!
