Caitlin Arens is a Culinary Educator at Pilot Light. She is joining Pilot Light’s staff having previously managed and instructed children and teens at The Kids’ Table, a kids’ cooking school in Wicker Park. She believes children are the future of food (both in what we see as food and how we grow it), and nothing is more rewarding than seeing a child fall in love with a new ingredient or learn a new skill. Throughout her career working in hotels, restaurants (including Blue Hill at Stone Barns), and farms in Chicago, New York, and abroad, she set out to find a way to make healthy and local food accessible to communities. 
 
She first became involved in Pilot Light’s Young Professional Board in 2016 first as a member, in 2018 as a chef-volunteer, and now as Co-President. She holds a B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and and AOS in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America.
