Elizabeth Middendorf – 4th Grade at Academy for Global Citizenship – Chicago, IL
Elizabeth “Liz” is a 22-year urban educator in Chicago. She has taught the last 5 years at Academy for Global Citizenship teaching the 4th grade International Baccalaureate program. Her passion for gardening, nature, and serving disadvantaged communities, align well with AGC’s mission of Global minded sustainability and social justice focus.
Facilitating the 4th-grade camping trip, guiding the hike at Starved Rock for the erosion and weathering unit, and planning the school garden with students are just a few of her favorite yearly school activities. Her leadership experience includes leading the MSI School Leadership Team to enhance STEM, mentoring student teachers, supportive peer coaching, developing school-wide systems, and providing staff professional development.
