Sarah Strunin – Kindergarten All Contents at Joplin Elementary- Chicago, IL

Sarah Strunin is a Kindergarten teacher at Scott Joplin Elementary School in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, on Chicago’s south side. Originally from New York City, Sarah has been an early primary teacher for over 20 years and she still believes that teaching is the best job, ever!

Sarah has taught and lived in other parts of the world. Everywhere she has taught, she has also been a student. From becoming bilingual while teaching in Mexico to climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza in order to watch the sunrise while exploring Cairo, Egypt, teaching and learning have always been her passions.

Sarah is excited to participate in this new journey with Pilot Light and the Food Education Fellowship. She understands how vital it is for children to relate to food in positive and healthy ways. Sarah is looking forward to creating learning experiences that support this development in her students.
