Pilot Light Fellowship Alumni Network Engagement Intern
As FAN’s Engagement Intern, Ren Brown oversees communication and engagement with Fellowship alumni as well as the creation of FAN media and newsletter content. She is passionate about food as it connects people, and a favorite past time of hers is cooking home-cooked meals with her loved ones. Food Education has been an especially big part of her life since she grew up in a very health-centered childhood as both her parents are involved in nutrition and fitness. Ren has worked several content creation positions, but she is excited to work for her first non-profit organization!
Favorite Food Education Standard: FES #1 – Food connects us to each other.
FES #1 has always stood out to me the most as I find that cooking and eating with others is a much more fulfilling experience, and I also feel that once I eat with someone I become closer to them because of it! This is why I really love what Pilot Light is doing because it’s giving children the opportunity to share these food moments with their classmates especially when some might not even have this chance in their homes.
A favorite food memory:
My favorite food memory was when I made pizza from scratch with my boyfriend. There was just something so satisfying about making something starting with flour and yeast as opposed to pre-made dough!
