Jeanne Salchli: I am a K-5 environmental science teacher in Brooklyn, NY. I have been teaching for 17 years at the same school. My goal as an educator is to tap into our young students’ curiosity and sense of wonder. We need to capture our youngest students’ attention and ensure that the next generation is environmentally literate.
I have a beautiful hydroponic lab in my classroom. I also manage a community garden for the benefit of the students, families, and residents of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
