Chandra Garcia-Kitch – 3rd Grade (all contents) at Ray Elementary School
Chandra Garcia-Kitch is currently a Third Grade classroom teacher at William H Ray School, a Chicago Public School. She has taught on the south and west sides of Chicago for the last 18 years, working with every grade from Kindergarten through 8th. Currently, Chandra is the Teacher representative on the Pilot Light Board of Directors. She has been integrating Pilot Light into her classroom instruction for 6 years.
Prior to moving to Chicago, Chandra taught in her hometown of Dallas, Texas for four years, which explains her affinity for BBQ, Tex-Mex, and hot weather.
She is a very strong proponent of public education and holds the belief that when students are given a shared responsibility for their learning, everyone learns more effectively and has a LOT more fun doing so, and she strives to build this foundation for her students every day. When not teaching, she enjoys time with her family, cooking, gardening, and road trips.
