Bryan Soto – 3rd-8th Grade Health & Wellness Teacher at Academy for Global Citizenship
Bryan Soto was born in Mexico City with deep roots in the Michoacan and Guanajuato state regions. Raised in the beautiful city of Chicago, Bryan graduated from Whitney Young HS and went on to receive his Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign along with a minor in Urban Planning. After working as a substitute teacher in the Cicero School District for a couple of years, Bryan became the Health and Wellness teacher for 3rd-8th graders at the Academy for Global Citizenship, a dual-language charter school on the S.West side of Chicago (just minutes away from where he grew up.) Over the last 5 years, he has taught students about not only healthy eating and physical activity, but also about lifestyle practices that will ultimately help make them more confident, resilient, sustainable (and happy!) human beings. His hobbies include gardening, cutting hair, reading, taking long walks, traveling, cooking, eating, and learning new things!
