Erin Conner is a third-grade math and science teacher at Dulles School of Excellence in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. This is her third year teaching after receiving her Masters of Elementary Education through National Louis University and completing the AUSL teaching residency. Born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida, she fell in love with Chicago on a New Year’s trip with friends and soon after moved here to pursue teaching. Erin loves how the city comes alive after winter and people truly appreciate the Chicago summers. Whether it is biking, skateboarding, reading in the park, gardening, swimming at the lake, or going to a farmer’s market, she loves to be outdoors. Any other time you can most likely find her cooking. Aside from teaching, cooking is Erin’s life-long passion. She is so excited to integrate food education into her classroom. Learning about food and cooking with her students is something she has always dreamed about. She can’t wait to see the ways food education brings her students together and the excitement they have when discovering new delicious food!
