Cecilia Gray – 10th-12th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences and Child Development at Pottsville High School – Pottsville, AR
Cecilia is a high school (10-12th grades) family and consumer sciences teacher at Pottsville High School, a top public school in north-central Arkansas. This is her twenty-seventh year in education and her first year working with Pilot Light. After graduating from Pottsville High School, Cecilia attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and a Masters in Vocational Education. She later earned a Master’s in School Counselor and Leadership and is a certified school counselor.
Cecilia got out of education for a while to stay home with her three children while they were small and work on the family farm, but after six years she got back into education and has stayed in ever since. She has been “back home” teaching at her alma mater since 2002.
Cecilia loves to learn new things that can be applied to the classroom, especially technology, and is a certified Google Level 1 and 2 Educator. She likes trying new recipes and has focused most recently on remaking recipes with healthier ingredients. Cecilia has a passion for nutrition and teaching students about food safety, fitness, and healthy choices. She is looking forward to using fresh produce from a new indoor garden this school year. In her free time, Cecilia enjoys exercising with friends, spending time with family (and her dog, Reece), crafting, and gardening.
