Anna Cynar – 10th-12th Grade Biology, Biotech, Sustainable Food Systems, and Garden/Culinary Science at Innovation Academy Charter School – Tyngsboro, MA
Anna lives in Lowell, Massachusetts, and teaches at Innovation Academy Charter School in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. This will be her 10th year teaching. She teaches life science courses in high school including Biology and Sustainable Food Systems. Anna is also active in her school’s farm-to-school program and really enjoys working with high school interns. Originally from Michigan, she received a BA in Communication and Culture Studies from Michigan Technological University and an MS in Environmental Science, Science Teaching Certification from Antioch University in Keene, NH.
When not gardening and teaching Anna enjoys canoeing and hiking with her husband, dabbling in a variety of crafts, reading, and striving to be the best Aunt ever. Anna is very excited to participate in the Pilot Light Food Education Fellowship. She loves how food is a tool for connection, building community, and empowering students and how food system explorations and action projects can be used to repair inequities and environmental injustices within our food system.
