Leah Slaughter – K-5th Grade Physical Education at Lake Weston Elementary School- Orlando, FL
Leah has been a Physical Education Specialist for 34 years, 31 of these yeats for OCPS at Lake Weston Elementary School in Orlando, Florida. I am also the Healthy School Team Coordinator, Partner In Education Coordinator, School Safety Patrol Coordinator, and Wellness Coordinator at Lake Weston ES. I enjoy teaching both students and staff the importance of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing for success! It all starts with a smile and a positive attitude.
I have been the Partner In Education Coordinator at Lake Weston for over 26 years. I have been quite successful at gaining monetary support in goods and services from businesses and individuals to meet the needs of the school. I enjoy this challenge each year, especially seeing the joy it brings to students and staff.
I look forward to working with the Pilot Light Team in supporting children with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to have healthy relationships with food. It is going to be an educational and healthful year!
