A coalition of educators who continue to utilize Food Education in their classrooms following their time as a Food Education Fellow.
Our goal is to connect educators both to each other and to Pilot Light resources so they are equipped to act as Food Education leaders in their communities.
FAN members are invested in the future of Food Education and demonstrate leadership of Food Ed. initiatives in their schools and communities.
By fostering peer to peer connections, we support FAN members to connect with community partners and leaders in their community as well as continue their professional growth through Food Education.
Active FAN members are connected with other Alumni, current Fellows, and Pilot Light staff for office hours, mentoring, and peer learning opportunities.
It is our goal to continue to deepen the community bonds between FAN members and current Fellows through network building opportunities and, eventually, both in-person and virtual FAN events.
We aim to utilize the collective power of the FAN to inform and transform our organization’s growth and identify leadership opportunities within Pilot Light for Alumni.
FAN leadership opportunities
Informing our evaluation practices
Serving Pilot Light through our Ambassador program, Advisory Board, and/or our Board of Directors
Involvement in our policy work through site visits with elected officials and local advocacy opportunities

“Pilot Light continues to be a meaningful resource and experience in my teaching practice. I have had guest speakers, organized cooking activities, and students have shared their own food with one another. It continues to influence how I teach and lead a classroom and has been a positive impact on my students and their learning.”
FAN Member Edward G.

Even though I’m years out from my Fellowship, the lessons and experiences I gained through that experience still have a direct and measurable impact on my classroom and career.”
