Maria García Velasco is one of the Programming Interns at Pilot Light. She is a native of Spain who also has lived in Italy and the United States. She is a business undergraduate student at Loyola University Chicago USA and Loyola Andalucía Europe. She is also majoring in Law.
She has experience in the nonprofit sector and a strong interest in food education. She is a great lover of the Mediterranean diet and is strongly convinced that we literally are what we eat. She believes in Nelson Mandela’s words: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
She has developed several market signature fundraising events in Chicago and has participated in several business and social venture simulations with firms like Deloitte. She loves traveling and trying new food from all around the world. She loves seafood and pasta.
