Katie Colvin

Katie is the Vice President of Programs and leads Pilot Light’s programming including the Food Education Fellowship and the Food Education Center. In collaboration with the Pilot Light team, Katie supports teachers in integrating lessons into their classrooms in an effort to ensure that all students have access to food and nutrition education. Previously, Katie worked as an administrator and Dean of Special Education Services at DRW College Prep in the North Lawndale community on the west side of Chicago. In this role, she worked to help ensure equity and access for hundreds of diverse learners and their families both during high school and after graduation. Katie believes that the most impactful education leaders have also had experience in the classroom, and before her work as an administrator, she taught high school for several years in North Lawndale and elementary for several years on the south side of Chicago and in Baltimore, Maryland. Katie is a graduate of Penn State University and has a Masters in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
