Mia Wollaeger is a Programming Intern at Pilot Light and is responsible for supporting the staff in program development and social media. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Mia is a rising third-year at the University of Chicago majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Education & Society. Before moving to Chicago, Mia spent a year serving with City Year Miami working with elementary school students as an assistant teacher in English Language Arts. Last summer, she developed curriculum for Debate It Forward, a non-profit organization that promotes healthy discourse and self-advocacy through debate education. Mia has also worked as a Jumpstart team member for several years, assisting in the implementation of early childhood education lessons for preschoolers. Mia is passionate about mental health education, and is a member of Mind Over Matter, an organization dedicated to destigmatizing mental health issues on college campuses. While not working, Mia enjoys baking for her friends and family and reading mystery novels.
