Lara Pruitt provides consultant services in education, focusing on capacity building and resource development. Through strategic planning, evaluation and project facilitation, Lara assists organizations in the design of tools and processes that enhance development of program outcomes in education and community settings. A teacher at heart, she works to provide her clients with clarity and understanding, leading to enhanced performance. With over twenty years of experience in education, Lara has provided professional development, coaching and facilitation for teachers, artists, administrators, executive and artistic directors in Chicago, nationally and internationally.
Lara earned her B.S. in advertising from the University of Illinois and her M.A.T. from National-Louis University. After nine years teaching in Chicago Public Schools, Lara was initially hired to coach teachers and teaching artists to facilitate the creation of arts integrated curriculum and assessment. Before opening her consulting business she led the federal research grant, Arts Impacting Achievement (AIA) as project director, utilizing an experimental design to assess the professional growth of teachers. However, her greatest edification has come from raising her two unique children, reminding her daily of the importance of recognizing individual needs and talents. Lara holds Illinois education certificates in K-9 general education and K-12 special education with an endorsement in teaching English Language Learners.
